  1. Heat the oil or ghee in a large pot and add the cumin seeds, bay leaf, cloves, cardamom pods, and cinnamon sticks. Fry until fragrant.
  2. Add the chopped onions and fry until golden brown.
  3. Add the ginger-garlic paste and fry for another minute.
  4. Add the chopped tomatoes and fry until they soften.
  5. Add the beef and fry until browned.
  6. Add the biryani masala and fry for a minute.
  7. Add the beef broth and salt to taste. Bring to a boil.
  8. Reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 30–45 minutes or until the beef is tender.
